Are you looking for THE best studio monitors on a budget?

    Look no further!

There has been a huge hype around the JBL LSR305’s and everybody who has tried them out agreed on the same thing…

JBL LSR305 studio monitors are most probably the best studio monitors you can find in the price range of – 150 $ ( and even beyond !).

They have been acclaimed and recommended by music producers and professionals all over the world and if you choose to go for them, you will make a choice you won’t ever regret.

Actually, they are so amazing that I am thrilling of excitement while writing this review…

But before you make a decision, let’s have a look at the features, sound quality and specificities of these babies and let’s see if they are made for you!

    JBL LSR305 studio monitor Features

JBL LSR305 studio monitor is a class-D Bi-amplified reference monitor ( active) with the impressive performance of the 3 series.

They possess an increased HF detail, which will maximize the ambience and debt of your recordings.

They feature the new JBL’s image control waveguides ( originally designed for the 20.000 $ per pair M2 Master reference monitors ! ), which is available for the first time in an affordable and compact studio monitor.

    In the box

The first thing you will notice when unboxing your JBL LSR305 studio monitor(s) is their size and weight, which fits perfectly in any small, medium and even larger sized room.

With its broad sweet spot, the 3 series speakers offer a neutral sound across an unusually large working space, even in a workspace that hasn’t been acoustically improved.

They have a solid build up quality and are easy to set up.

They come with a power adaptor and foam pads *

Make sure you have an audio interface and an instrument cable (1/4 inch or XLR-to-1/4 inch) before buying them. No need for an amplifier.

    * Comes with foam pads that cut off some of the bass resonance but you might consider buying some quality foam pads to prevent coloration and provide a more accurate sound.

The ideal setup would be to use speaker stands and foam pads together if your budget allows it.

    JBL LSR305 studio monitor

In the front, you will find a magnetic fielded 5” woofer and a 1” soft dome tweeter.

In the back, you will have the XLR and TRS inputs.

    The volume know

    A decibel sensitivity input.

    LF and HF trim controls.

    Sound quality

Detailed sound, even in a dense mix and impressive stereo imaging.

Probably the most accurate sound and best stereo separation you can get in that price range ( and even more expensive monitors)

Can handle high volumes without any distortion.

Impressively flat and neutral sound and a clear treble response.

Fantastic bass response. even in the low end but … if there is only one thing that can be argued about, it might be the lack of lower end in the sub response.

This can be optimized by adding a matching a 10″ LSR310s subwoofer if you want to tad a little bit more in the low end during a recording, mixing or monitoring session.

This will be a great complement to your LSR studio monitors when producing music genres like Electronic music and Hip Hop.

This set up will fill out the lower frequency range perfectly and you will definitely get that solid, accurate bass you are looking for !

    Conclusion

I don’t think there is a lot more to add than what I already said… JBL LSR305 studio monitor will DEFINITELY be a top choice on every level!

The revolutionary image control waveguides have been developed for the M2 master reference monitors which cost no less than 20.000 $!

Imagine this in a 149$ studio monitor and you will understand where I want to get with this.

I would highly recommend the JBL LSR305 studio monitor for any music producer on a budget ( or not) because, with these, you can’t go wrong!
